Casting Finalised: Introducing the Young Officers (and little gentlemen)

The cast of An Officer and a Gentleman is now complete.

The four boys who will be sharing or understudying the roles of the young Zack Mayo in the world premiere production set to open at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre next month have been confirmed by Producers John Frost and Sharleen Cooper Cohen.

George Cartwright (12 years old), Michael Kilbane (13 years old), Otis Pavlovic (11 years old) and Oliver Wright (12 years old) have begun rehearsing with the adult company in preparation for the show’s opening night on May 18 2012. It has not been confirmed which boy will be performing on opening night.

George joins the company direct from completing 12 months in the Australian premiere production of Love Never Dies, where he performed the role of Gustave in both Melbourne and Sydney seasons. Michael is no stranger to the stage, having previously performed with both the Sydney Theatre Company and Opera Australia. Otis and Oliver are making their musical theatre debut.

An Officer and a Gentleman is directed by Simon Phillips, co-written by Douglas Day Stewart and Sharleen Cooper Cohen, choreographed by Andrew Hallsworth and musically directed by Dave Skelton. Starring Amanda Harrison and Ben Mingay, this world premiere musical is currently rehearsing at ABC studios in Ultimo, Sydney.
