Cast announced for RENT at the Sydney Opera House

An iconic city. One life-changing year. This legendary rock musical. Join the bohemian revolution as this group of artists, outcasts and misfits seize their moment in the face of adversity and measure their life through love. Celebrate the 25th anniversary of this global musical phenomenon with a never more prevalent message: “no day but today”.

New York City, East Village, 1991. The vibrant, passionate bohemian community is dwindling. Gentrification pushes people from their homes, disease ravishes the population. Yet in the course of one life-changing year, a group of friends fight for their place in the world. For love. For life in the face of death.

Jonathan Larson’s multiple Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning sensation is more relevant today than ever before. After a year of social, physical and emotional turmoil, a brand new Australian production of RENT will bring our community back together with its rebellious premiere this summer.

Joining the previously announced Callum Francis (Collins) and Seann Miley Moore (Angel) are Mia Morrissey (Mimi), Tim Omaji (Benny), Elenoa Rokobaro (Joanne), Monique Sallé (Maureen), Robert Tripolino (Rodger), Mat Verevis (Mark), Henry Brett, Jarrod Draper, Kieran McRath, Marissa Saroca, Stacey Thomsett, and Angelina Thomson.

With direction by Shaun Rennie, musical direction by Andrew Worboys, and choreography by Luca Dinardo, this powerhouse production is sure to impress both old and new fans of the show.

Come celebrate life and love in all its forms in this revolutionary, classic rock musical.
