For one night only, Kristin Chenoweth will perform with an 11 piece band in QPAC’s Concert Hall on June 14 2013.
In her first tour outside the US, the Emmy and Tony Award winner will treat us to some of her most well-known songs from Wicked, GLEE and Les Misérables along with some personal favourites and a few surprises.
“I am even bringing my parents on this tour with me for their 50th wedding anniversary. They are so excited to see Australia and looking forward to the experience,” said Kristin.
An Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductee, Kristin effortlessly transitions between stage, television and film, captivating audiences no matter what platform she stands on.
She received rave reviews and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series while starring in the ABC series Pushing Daisies, and also appeared in Fox’s musical comedy series Glee, where she played a former student. She also starred as Annabeth Schott on the hit drama The West Wing and guest judged on American Idol.
Kristin recently wrapped production of the movie Ed Zwick’s Family Weekend, a film which centres around a disgruntled teenager’s attempts to get attention from her dysfunctional family.

Later this year, Chenoweth will star in the new American ABC show, Good Christian Belles, as Darlene. The show centres on a recently divorced mother of two who moves back to the affluent Dallas neighbourhood to get a fresh start, and finds herself in the whirling midst of salacious gossip, Botox, and fraud.
Chenoweth was also recently seen in the Disney movie You Again alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Kristen Bell. She is the voice of Rosetta in Walt Disney Picture’s Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure and The Great Fairy Rescue.
For hard core fans, Kristin has also has an autobiography in print – A Little Bit Wicked – which was released in 2009.
But for her musical theatre fans, her most memorable career highlights were her show-stealing, Tony-winning performance in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and her Tony Award nomination performance as the original Glinda the Good Witch in Stephen Schwartz’s Wicked, which she will treat us to in her one night only concert in Brisbane in June.

Broadway Royalty?? More like the queen of Broadway flops!! WICKED is her only Broadway success and that would have happened with or without her. All her other shows were box office duds: Steel Pier, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Epic Proportions, The Apple Tree, Promises, Promises. The term Broadway Royalty belongs to the likes of Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, Angela Lansbury, Chita Rivera, Patti LuPone and others who actually deserve it.
Stephen, I'm guessing you basically just don't like her, but you might want to go back and check those Promises, Promises box office numbers again. She won the Tony for You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, it made her a recognised star, that counts just as much as box office in terms of her career and reputation. Yes, she does a lot of TV as well, but who doesn't right now if they can? Everyone you listed above is at least a generation older.
From VARIETY: Of course, early strength doesn’t always guarantee longevity. Take last year’s new addition to the 2010 Top 10: “Promises, Promises” closed a year ago when its stars moved on, without recouping.
Not recouping is not quite the same as box office due to huge expenses, it was doing $1m+ box office every week for at least the first 6mths of the 9mth run, it basically closed (and apparently didn't recoup) because they weren't going to be able to replace with similar stars to Sean/Kristin, and they were the main reason for the box office. I was there 5 times, both early and late in the run, and it was going off with the essentially sold-out audience in one of the biggest theatres on Broadway.
I'd also suggest that you watch Kristin in The Apple Tree if you can find it, it is an incredible performance, if it wasn't amazing Box Office it was probably more to do with it being a limited run at a not-for-profit theatre and a revival of a reasonably obscure old show. I might also point out while I'm back that appearances at Carnegie Hall, Candide at Lincoln Center etc are not technically Broadway shows but have assisted in making her into the Broadway royalty I obviously believe she is ;)
If you measure Broadway stars from their box office then really you have no business judging the genre. Most of Barbara Cook's shows were flops but that doesn't make her any less of a legend. Some of the greatest shows of all time were box office flops, and each of the stars you have listed as "true" royalty were involved in a few financial disasters a piece. The point of the term Broadway royalty is to single out performers whose talent and persona have managed to resonate with the public and set them apart. That's Kristen Chenoweth. It must really suck that you can't enjoy it along with the rest of us! Not loving Kristen Chenoweth... wow, that's diminishing for you.

Cristin Milioti was awesome in 'Once' on Broadway, probably one of the best performances I've ever scene. I'd love to see her do an intimate solo gig.
For that matter... I'd love to see Glen Hansard live too!
O, and Stephen you should never judge a performer by the success of the show they are in. There are a lot of average performers made to look good by a great production, and many great performers let down by poor production... no one can deny Kristen is an absolute A list talent.
