From 6pm, members of the Sydney theatre and arts community (along with some very high profile guests) will gather at the awards event to cheer on nominees representing 36 productions which played on Sydney stages during 2012.
The Sydney Theatre Awards are presented by a group of leading theatre critics including Elissa Blake (Sun Herald), Jason Blake (Sydney Morning Herald), Chris Hook (Daily Telegraph), Deborah Jones (The Australian), Darryn King (Time Out Sydney), Jo Litson (The Sunday Telegraph), John McCallum (The Australian) and Diana Simmonds (Stagenoise).
Leading the nominations with eight nods each are blockbuster musical Love Never Dies and independent production Punk Rock. South Pacific, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Legally Blonde and A Chorus Line have all been nominated for awards in various categories.
