BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL playing at the Star Gold Coast
Matt Ward Entertainment has secured the rights to tell the story of iconic musician Carole King and showcase her catalogue of soaring hits – including Natural Woman, You’ve got a Friend and Loco-motion – for a 4 week season at The Star Gold Coast, March 11th – April 9th 2023.
Gold Coast theatre production powerhouse Matt Ward Entertainment’s next nostalgia fuelled musical production BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL is casting for key roles including the soulful central character Carole King from 16th to 19th of December. The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical, blew away Broadway audiences with the inspiring true story of one woman’s remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Famer.

The production will be a thrill to see whether you’re a fan of her music or you’re fascinated by the music business: “Carole King is the voice of a generation. The odds are good that Carole King is responsible for a song you love. ‘Natural woman’, ‘You’ve got a friend’, ‘Will you love me tomorrow’, ‘The Loco-motion’, ‘I feel the earth move’ – they’re all King compositions.
From school girl to superstar, Beautiful is a remarkable story that will stay with you long after you leave the theatre. As a female songwriter in the 1960s, she impressively overcame barriers and sold her first hit, ‘Will you love me tomorrow’ by age seventeen. By the time she was twenty she wrote chart toppers for the biggest acts in Rock & Roll – Aretha Franklin, The Drifters, The Shirelles and The Monkees.
Shaping singers’ success, Mr Ward personally coaches local talent at music fraternity Matt Ward Vocal Studios between musicals. He shared his personal affinity to the star: “By finding her own voice and finally stepping into the spotlight she became one of the most successful solo acts in music history and the voice of a generation. Write your own music, be diligent and don’t give up on your dream.
The search is now on for Australia’s strongest singers and actors to fill 20 on-stage roles. Matt Ward Entertainment welcomes talent of all backgrounds and nationalities. More than 80 new jobs will be created on the Coast between cast and crew thanks to Beautiful and that’s got to be a beautiful thing.
