This free concert, accompanied by Orchestra Victoria, will showcase the talented dancers found within the ranks of our National Ballet Company as they perform excerpts from the famous ballets Don Quixote and the iconic Swan Lake.

Telstra, as principal sponsor, have supported the Australian Ballet’s annual free outdoor performances for 13 years in Melbourne, Brisbane, Penrith, Darwin and Canberra. This concert marks the first time in five years that an Aus Ballet outdoor event has been staged in Melbourne.

“The free performance is always a highlight of the year, giving ballet fans and dance enthusiasts the opportunity to witness The Australian Ballet perform in a unique setting – it’s an event not to be missed,” said Paul Harrison, Telstra Area General Manager for Melbourne CBD and West

So pack a picnic, head to the Bowl and enjoy the start of Labour Day long weekend with some high class entertainment for absolutely no charge this evening.

Photographer Belinda Strodder (artsphotograpy.net.au) was at the Bowl yesterday to capture some images of the company rehearsing for tonight’s performance.
