AussieTheatre.com announces Watch Party event

In light of the continuing devastation that is being brought about by the Australian bushfire crisis, AussieTheatre.com will be holding a Watch Party.

Since taking over as the Editor of this platform, I have consistently been amazed by the sense of community amongst the Australian arts community. Although I do not believe it is our place to comment politically, I do believe that by standing together, we can achieve far more than pulling apart.

So, to show our support for the victims of the fires and the amazing emergency crews and volunteers that are helping these people in their time of need we will be hosting a Watch Party on our Facebook page. This will be an opportunity for any of our fans or followers to join us as we show our support.

WHAT IS A WATCH PARTY?
A Watch Party is a way for people to watch videos on Facebook together in real-time. Once a Watch Party is started, participants can watch videos, live or recorded, and interact with one another around them in the same moment.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
You can get involved in two ways;

Firstly, if you are a performer and interested in submitting a video to be shown at our Watch Party event, you can do this by emailing us a WeTransfer file of your video to watchparty@www.aussietheatre.com.au. This video can be anything from a solo acoustic cover to a full cast a cappella arrangement. Whilst we appreciate that this is a distressing time for many, we would like to focus on the stories of strength, unity and resilience.

If you do not want to submit a video, you can simply log in to Facebook and join us for our live virtual event. You’ll be able to see the amazing performances that are shown, share your thoughts and unite as one community. There will also be the opportunity to donate to the cause on our page.

WHEN IS IT?
The Watch Party will be held on Monday 20th January from 6pm AEST.

WHERE IS IT?
The Watch Party will be streamed live on AussieTheatre.com’s Facebook page (@AussieTheatre) and you can join us from anywhere in the world.

We will do our best to show as many videos as possible so please do consider submitting a song that you would like to share with our audience.

Please help us spread the word by sharing and tagging with anybody that you think may be interested in taking part.
