Addams Family rehearsals are underway in Sydney

Rehearsals for the Australian premiere production of The Addams Family are well underway, and we took a look at some of their progress at ABC Studios in Ultimo yesterday.

American Director Jerry Zaks is in town to rehearse the company, and he addressed the media before the company began rehearsing their opening sequence for the gathered crowd.

“I am so thrilled to be here, in your beautiful city, to do this wonderful show. I can’t tell you! This show is very special to me, it means an awful lot. What I’m really thrilled about is the opportunity I have to work with all these fantastically talented people who are going to put a show together that spreads such joy!”
Jerry Zaks

Starring John Waters, Chloe Dallimore, Tegan Wouters, Tim Maddren, Katrina Retallick and Russell Dykstra, The Addams Family is set to open at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney in early March.

Jerry Zaks believes the show spreads a special kind of joy, and that audiences will be thrilled with the production.

“People will be happy to spend their 2 hours and 10 minutes in the theatre in the company of the Addams Family”, he said.
