Accolades for Adelaide Festival Centre

Adelaide Festival Centre was recently recognised at the prestigious 2023 South Australian Tourism Awards and the 2023 South Australian Music Awards, winning awards for three of its beloved festivals, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, DreamBIG Children’s Festival and Adelaide Guitar Festival.

At the 2023 South Australian Tourism Awards over the weekend, Adelaide Festival Centre’s Adelaide
Cabaret Festival was awarded Silver in the Major Festivals and Events category, and DreamBIG Children’s Festival was awarded Bronze in the Festivals and Events category, in a night showcasing the achievements and business excellence within South Australia’s tourism sector.

At the 2023 South Australian Music Awards last night, Adelaide Festival Centre’s Adelaide Guitar Festival was awarded Best Regional Venue or Activation for it’s On the Road program, in a night to recognise, promote and celebrate excellence in the South Australian contemporary music industry.

A favourite with South Australians and a major event in the Australian and international arts calendar,
Adelaide Cabaret Festival has been delighting audiences for 23 years. Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the biggest cabaret festival in the world, has garnered a reputation for highlighting outstanding local, national, and international talent through an eclectic program. The festival has been a platform for shows and performers who have achieved critical acclaim and featured world-renowned artists including Ms Lisa Fischer, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Dita Von Teese, Tim Minchin, and Patti LuPone to name a few.

In 2024, The Adelaide Cabaret Festival returns June 7 to 22 with new Artistic Director, award-winning
Australian stage and screen star, writer, and performer Virginia Gay.

DreamBIG Children’s Festival is the world’s longest running children’s festival, formerly known as Come Out Festival it began in Adelaide in 1974. The biennial festival will return to Adelaide Festival Centre to engage, educate, and inspire children and families with a diverse program of events over three weeks in 2025.

Adelaide Guitar Festival’s On the Road aims to inspire, nurture and develop new local artists, while bringing world-class musicians and town-wide activations to regional locations.

Working with councils and organisations across the state, the festival program incorporates everything from workshops and performances to family-friendly micro festivals. Adelaide Guitar Festival’s regional events program continues to grow from year to year and will return in 2024 – more information to be announced soon.

Also recognised recently, Adelaide Festival Centre’s new-look website, launched late last year, took out two awards at the Adelaide Advertising & Design Awards last week. Adelaide design company Simple Marketing were awarded for their work on branding and the website re design, winning two coveted awards – Integrated Design Campaign Adelaide Festival Centre and Design Brand Identity (Large Corporate) Adelaide Festival Centre.
