ABC set to make live musical adaptation of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Last week, ABC announced that they will be throwing their hat into the ring and taking on Young Frankenstein as their next live musical production.

Following their recent success with The Little Mermaid Live!, the network are set to tackle a live TV production of the musical with Mel Brooks himself acting as producer.

Young Frankenstein‘s musical adaptation is based on the 1974 parody film of the same name, which starred Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle. It reimagines the Frankenstein legend, following a young Dr. Frankenstein as he follows in his infamous grandfather’s footsteps to reanimate a corpse. The musical has played Broadway, Paris, Rome, London, and is even hitting Sydney’s shores later this year at the Hayes Theatre.

Check out this trailer from the West End production for a sneak peak of what’s to come!

The airdate and cast are yet to be announced.
