Entries are now open for the one of the country's most prestigious musical theatre competitions, the Rob Guest Endowment.
Since 2009, the Rob Guest Endowment has been awarded yearly to a rising star in the world of musical theatre, selected by a panel of industry experts. The award provides the winner with ongoing training and support as they make their way in the industry.
“We are launching the ANZ Trustees Rob Guest Endowment Gala concert on the 17th June with exciting new developments including great improvements to the prize package. We are committed to growing each year and also supporting our industry, we look forward to celebrating our 5th year,” said Ross Hannaford, Production Co-ordinator for the Endowment.
While details of this year's prize are due to be announced at next week's launch, a $10,000 talent development grant has been previously awarded, as well as a $5000 prize for the runner up.
Last year's winner Glenn Hill is currently appearing in Legally Blonde The Musical as Aaron Schultz and covering Emmett. Previous winners include Blake Bowden, who is soon to appear as Joseph Cable in South Pacific, Francine Cain and Danielle Matthews.
The gala concert, to be held this year on November 25, features the finalists in the running for the award, as well as some of the biggest names in Australian musical theatre.
