2012 Australian Cabaret Showcase Winner Announced

At the Grand Final of the 10th Annual Cabaret Showcase, Bradley McCaw from Brisbane was announced the 2012 winner.

McCaw, 28, performed three original songs:  Hard to Keep a Good Girl Down, No Feelings Today and Day Dreaming Girl.

As winner, McCaw received a prize package that included a $1000 cash prize courtesy of The Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation; an invitation to perform a newly devised show at The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival, with airfares and accommodation courtesy of The Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation; an invitation to perform a newly devised show at the 2013 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, 2013 Noosa Long Weekend Festival, 2013 Ballarat Cabaret Festival, 2013 Melbourne Cabaret Festival and the 2013 Brisbane Cabaret Festival, all  including airfares, accommodation and transfers; a fully produced photographic package including styling, shoot, images, prints and a design for their new show, courtesy of Kurt Sneddon at Blueprint Studios valued at over $1000; and publicity support for their 2013 tour courtesy of IP Publicity.

The runner up and winner of the Showcase Prize was Amelia Ryan of Sydney. Ryan won a photographic headshot package including shoot, images, prints, courtesy of Kurt Sneddon at Blue Print Studios valued at over $440, and is the standby performer in the event that the Showcase winner is unable to fulfil his obligations to the Festival sponsors.
In addition, all of the Australian Festival Partners decided to offer Ryan a place in their respective Festivals as well. She has received an invitation to perform a newly devised show at the 2013 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, 2013 Noosa Long Weekend Festival, 2013 Ballarat Cabaret Festival, 2013 Melbourne Cabaret Festival and the 2013 Brisbane Cabaret Festival, all including airfares, accommodation and transfers.

Judges of the Grand Final were Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Festival Centre Producer Torben Brookman, Noosa Long Weekend Festival Artistic Director Ian Mackellar, Co-Artistic Director of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival David Read, Chairman of the Melbourne  Cabaret Festival  Ron Dobell, Co-Artistic Director of Ballarat Cabaret Festival Sean Gunn, Theatrical Agent and Showcase Founder Les Solomon, and General Manager of the New York Musical Theatre Festival and Executive Producer of the Australian Cabaret Showcase Jeremy Youett.
