  • $99,022 – $111,457 (dependent on skills and experience) + 11.5% superannuation

About the Role and YIRRAMBOI Festival

YIRRAMBOI, meaning tomorrow in the shared languages of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nations, welcomes applications for the role of a visionary Marketing Manager. YIRRAMBOI Festival is Melbourne’s prestigious biennial First Nations arts festival, championing the continuous cultures and diverse contemporary practices of First Nations artists. Grounded in principles of First Nations leadership, new work, visibility & dialogue, and international collaboration, YIRRAMBOI brings this to life by producing and presenting programs, fostering independent artists, and nurturing creative projects in collaboration with cultural and community partners.  YIRRAMBOI Festival will return 1 – 11 May 2025.

As the Marketing Manager, you will drive and deliver our comprehensive festival marketing campaign, aimed at maximising awareness and engagement with our renowned festival. This pivotal role involves planning and delivering a fully integrated marketing strategy, encompassing communication and PR plans, media buying, asset production, and website development. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving ticket sales strategies, audience engagement activities, and enhancing our online presence, ensuring that YIRRAMBOI continues to captivate and expand its audience.

We are looking for an individual with a proven background and deep insight into collaborating with First Nations peoples and communities. The role involves fostering solid and collaborative relationships so an understanding of and ability to work with key stakeholders including creative teams, artists, external contractors, media partners, and government agencies is highly sought after.

What you will bring to YIRRAMBOI

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with First Nations people, processes and protocols
  • Extensive experience developing and delivering high level festival campaigns and successful marketing and communications strategies
  • Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills, with the ability to take initiative, drive change, and implement innovative strategies to enhance the awareness and attendance of a festival brand
  • Experience in successfully managing budgets and delivering within tight budgetary constraints, while optimising return on investment
  • Solid understanding of and experience working with diverse stakeholders such as creative teams, artists, external contractors, media partners and government agencies to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage a range of projects simultaneously and deliver agreed outcomes to meet deadlines
