About Midsumma Festival

Midsumma Festival is Australia’s premier LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural organisation. We create inclusive, safe, and engaging spaces celebrating diverse experiences. We foster connections and amplify voices across various communities, including First Nations, disabled, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, and more. Our annual festival features over 200 events, drawing audiences of 300,000 across Naarm/Melbourne, Victori and Australia.


Position Summary

As the Ticketing & Presenter Services Manager, you will be the linchpin in our ticketing operations and presenter support services. Your role includes managing ticket sales, collecting event data, and supporting producers. This full-time, fixed-term contract position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of Midsumma Festival 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of ticketing, including sales, remittances, and event reconciliations for approximately 80 ticketed events.
  •   Build and manage the ticket sales web interface (Red61), ensuring seamless sales processes.
  •   Coordinate complimentary tickets, a modest box office for program launch and Midsumma Carnival, and support open-access presenters.
  •   Collect and collate statistical information from all festival events for reporting purposes.
  • Liaise with event producers, venues, and other stakeholders to ensure effective ticketing and event delivery.
  • Provide regular sales reports and updates to senior managers.
  • Coordinate workshops and support initiatives for presenters.
  • Assist with proofing marketing materials and coordinating event attendance data collection.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in ticketing for multi-genre festivals and proficiency with ticketing platforms.
  •  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and cloud-based databases.
  • A warm, engaging personality who can build and maintain networks.
  • Respect and empathy for diverse communities, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ arts sector
  • A collaborative and flexible working style aligned with our organisational values.

Employment Details

  •       Salary: Competitive, with additional benefits, including superannuation and pro-rata leave.
  •        Contract: Full-time fixed term (approx. August/September 2024 – mid-February 2025).
  •        Location: Midsumma Festival Office, Southbank, VIC and off-site during the festival period.
  •        Flexibility is required for evening and weekend work during the festival period.
