Iwiri Arts is part of Iwiri Aboriginal Corporation, a member led ACCO based in Port Adelaide servicing Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (Anangu) people. Iwiṟi Aboriginal Corporation was established in 2018 by Anangu who wanted to create a cultural and community space to support Anangu and their families in Adelaide. Iwiri’s mission is to promote cultural, social,mental and emotional wellbeing for Anangu across their lifespan, a vision that guides the holistic values of the Iwiri Arts’ Studio.
The Iwiri Arts Studio was established in 2021 and is a leading Aboriginal art studio in Port Adelaide, dedicated to preserving and promoting Indigenous art and culture. We offer a vibrant space for Anangu artists to create, exhibit and sell their work while engaging with the broader community through workshops, exhibitions, and cultural events. Iwiri Arts creates opportunities for Anangu artists and their communities to come together and share, retain and promote their culture through the creation of multi-disciplinary artworks across painting, ceramics, illustration, and textiles.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Art Studio Manager to oversee the daily operations of our art studio and to provide mentoring and support to our artists in painting, illustration, ceramics, and textiles. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Aboriginal art and culture, strong technical visual arts skills, and a commitment to working closely with Aboriginal artists to further their careers.
Working closely with the Arts Manager, the Studio Manager coordinates all studio operations, providing key support to artists on a day-to-day basis. This role involves managing studio operations, providing practical support and mentoring to artists, maintaining arts materials, updating data bases, cataloguing art work, coordinating with artists, organising events, and ensuring the studio’s sustainability and growth.
