The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Senior Curator who will manage the Photography curatorial department and collection.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will bring senior experience in the field to lead the Photography curatorial department and develop the Photography collection. You will bring recognised expertise to the strategic planning, research, development, and coordination of relevant displays, exhibitions, projects and partnerships. Other key responsibilities include:
- Bringing demonstrated people management experience to the role to manage the Photography curatorial department and its projects.
- Contributing at a senior level to departmental and cross-departmental curatorial planning, including bringing extensive strategic planning experience and contributing new ideas and approaches.
- Performing a senior and strategic role in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful, you must have extensive experience in and specialist knowledge of art history, and/or contemporary art with a relevant post-graduate tertiary qualification combined with demonstrated high level curatorial and/or institutional experience particularly within the area.
You have demonstrated experience in actively seeking opportunities to improve others’ skills and talents by providing constructive feedback, coaching and training opportunities.
