The Arts, Events and Libraries Department at the City of Kingston is focused on the delivery of industry leading contemporary programs, activities, and events. Through innovation and continuous improvement, the department strives to provide high quality learning, recreational, social, and cultural outcomes for creative, local and visiting communities.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic Public Arts Officer to join the Arts, Events & Libraries Department. Reporting to the Visual Arts Coordinator, your role is to:

  • Develop and deliver Kingston’s Visual Arts Program with a focus on Public Art.
  • Assist with the coordination of visual arts programming and marketing.
  • Maintain and develop administrative systems, processes and functions.
  • Development of stakeholder engagement strategies in liaison with internal and external partners.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience with a public art portfolio in a commercial, community, cooperative or government setting.
  • Experience in professional, emerging and community based visual arts programming.
  • High level of oral & written communication skills.
  • High level or organisational and project management skills
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in arts administration or a related discipline with significant experience in public art highly desirable.

The salary for this position starts at $79,015.76 (Band 5) per annum plus superannuation.
