Lake Macquarie City Council has an exciting temporary opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to provide key administrative support to our diverse and progressive Arts, Culture and Tourism department for a 12 month period. (Maternity Relief). The primary focus of the role will be to support all administrative functions of the Lifelong Learning and Events and Festivals teams, while working closely with other teams within the department and external stakeholders. Key areas of responsibility increase maintaining systems and databases, procurement, invoicing and account administration, event delivery support, internal communications as well as supporting team training initiatives and the development of business improvement projects.

The role is primarily based at Council’s Administration building in Speers Point and involves travel to multiple locations as well as out of hours work – evenings and weekends when required.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have well-rounded administrative experience supported by a Certificate IV in Business Administration with excellent communication skills and possess an independent initiative to go the extra mile. You will have a collaborative approach and enjoy building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking someone that has experience in supporting business improvement projects and events and public programming as well as confidence in the use of MS Office applications (particularly Excel), broad understanding of account administration, website management and bookings software. An interest in the Arts and Culture industry would be advantageous.
