MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a casual Motion Graphics Designer to design motion graphic and animated content for a wide range of audiovisual production projects of the Multimedia department.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Under direction from the Senior Multimedia Manager, you will design motion graphics, animations and moving image content for a wide range of multimedia publishing platforms, including event and exhibition displays, digital signage, media, marketing and social media outputs, documentary film, web and interactive content production projects. Other key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of the audiovisual production team in either a specialised area of expertise, or across a range of video production areas including motion graphics design, animation, video editing, colour grading.
- Participating in creative collaborations to design and storyboard video productions based on media, marketing, education and curatorial briefs. Bringing fresh and creative ideas to the table for new avenues of motion graphics and video production techniques, concepts and designs.
- Assisting in the production of motion graphics and animated content for marketing, exhibitions, and educational content development.
- Collaborating with the Multimedia team to provide production support for web, browser-based and audio-visual publishing of a range of content. Assisting with any research, special projects or other duties as directed.
To be successful you will have an approved qualification in Multimedia, animation production, film production, visual arts, graphic design or related disciplines, or experience in moving image design and content production for film, television, web or multimedia, as evidenced with a strong portfolio. Coupled with knowledge and experience in a range of moving image production areas, or specialised experience in one or more areas of moving image design such as creative development of film and moving image projects, postproduction design and workflows, video production and video mastering techniques.
You will have strong typographic knowledge and skills and experience with web design in the cultural sector.
Background knowledge of Australian and International art, experience with cultural content of institutions, knowledge of web standards and issues for government departments or an understanding of copyright issues in the arts sector will be highly regarded.
