MELBOURNE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Applications are sought from musicians of outstanding ability for the following position with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Section Viola

Audition dates:         Monday 12 & Tuesday 13 February 2024
Candidates must be available for both whole days.

Requirements:          First and Second movements of Stamitz Viola Concerto OR the Hoffmeister Viola Concerto, OR the Mozart Clarinet Concerto (played on viola), including cadenzas for both movements, with piano accompaniment.

PLUS

First movement of the Bartók Viola Concerto OR Walton Viola Concerto, with piano accompaniment;

PLUS

Orchestral Excerpts.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra offers an attractive salary package for the successful candidates. Please note that this position is only available to citizens of Australia or New Zealand, permanent residents of Australia or those that have the legal right to work in Australia.
