Synonymous with quality and durability, we specialise in Australian Made premium commercial grade GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) Bowls, Pots, Planter boxes and Street furniture. We provide solutions and manufactured products to enhance the Australian built environment & landscape through quality, design detail and durability. Our GRC products & ranges are manufactured in a modern and purpose-built facility-based in Murwillumbah, NSW.

Job Brief:

The role is fast paced and covers all elements of the product design process from concept through to production. Reporting to the GM you will be responsible for helping develop and deliver exciting and innovative commercial design solutions for Quatro Design.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to work within an energetic & fast paced team environment
  • Work collaboratively with clients including architects and designers to develop bespoke product ranges and solutions to compliment the built environment.
  • Develop commercially viable products that are designed for manufacturing efficiency
  • Design trend-based forms that complement the surrounding environment and landscape.
  • Provide design & engineering support to the manufacturing shop floor.
  • Research and analyse competitors’ key product characteristics and benefits including patent searches
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other departments as required
  • Liaise and communicate with various local and overseas suppliers.
  • Conduct product testing and record / document results

Skills and experience:

 

  • We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, commercial and creative industrial designer who is both a team player and results driven. In addition to your tertiary design qualification you will have;
  • Experienced in designing for manufacture with a strong understanding of associated costs
  • Able to read and translate architectural floor plans.
  • Ability to understand & follow project design briefs with related costing analysis
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software is essential (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks)
  • Ability to create 2D control drawings with associated BOM’s for manufacturing
  • Experience developing and validating prototypes prior to production
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Previous work experience within a commercial or manufacturing environment will be viewed upon highly.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and budgets
