We are looking for an Engagement Manager to join the Perth Festival team on a full-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and goal-oriented leader who is keen to make a contribution to the future success of the Perth Festival!

Working closely with the Head of Programming, this pivotal role will lead a team to achieve Perth Festival’s strategic goals. The Engagement Manager is responsible for conceptualising, implementing and maintaining programs that connect with key aspects of the community including the community engagement strategy, access and inclusion, arts industry and creative learning. Contributing to the activation of the Festival’s purpose to ‘create a Festival for all’, this role will build the Festival’s connection to its audience development strategy with a particular focus on accessibility , improving community connection, developing new audiences and increasing the reach of our Connect, access and public programs.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are to:

1.     Develop, implement and deliver the Festival’s connect engagement strategy, ensuring that it is aligned to the Strategic Plan and the Artistic Program, including working collaboratively with artists and companies to guide show-specific community engagement initiatives

2.     Manage the delivery of the Arts Industry and Creative Learning Programs including any integrated relevant Community Engagement programs

3.     In partnership with key stakeholders set and drive the strategic vision for Access and inclusion across the organisation which includes Arts Industry, creative learning and community engagement

4.     Be responsible for delivering community engagement initiatives such as cultural ambassadors and the community outreach programs


The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

1.     Demonstrated ability to develop and strengthen relationships within the community

2.     Demonstrated ability to source opportunities for an organisation to engage with the community through different initiatives

3.     Interest and passion for diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and the arts

4.     Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and / or people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
