Are you passionate about the arts and have a background in educational learning programs? Ngununggula is looking for a Creative Learning Manager to champion arts education and embrace the gallery’s vision to be the centre of arts and culture for the region.
As part of a close-knit team, you’ll nurture creativity and enjoyment of the arts for all ages and abilities through visual arts experiences, educational programs and gallery events. In doing so, you’ll grow new audiences and help promote the gallery to the community as an efficient and responsive organisation.
ABOUT NGUNUNGGULA
Ngununggula, meaning ‘belonging’ in the traditional language of the Gundungurra First Nations people, is the first regional art gallery in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Focusing on visual arts, education, artistic practice, and cultural voice, our program represents the region and beyond through significant exhibitions, artist-led projects, events, workshops, artist talks and educational activities for local schools. At Ngununggula, we have set our sights on becoming the central place for artistic expression, presentation, learning and discovery for generations to come.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the director to identify opportunities for sustainable expansion and development of Creative Learning programs in line with the gallery’s strategic plan
- Lead the development and delivery of the gallery’s Creative Learning Program, including school education, and public and outreach programs
- Professionally manage the daily operations of the Creative Learning Program, including correspondence, bookings processes, marketing and communications
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including schools and community organisations. Maintain and update contact database
- Ensure, where relevant, school programs are linked to appropriate NSW curriculum outcomes
- Lead the casual and contract Education Assistants and artist-facilitators in program delivery
- Lead the development and implementation of educational resources, including education kits and online content
- Implement ongoing evaluation framework and measurement tools to continually improve and ensure quality, artistic alignment and learning methodology
- Oversee education program budgets and support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, and annual reports
- Ensure processes are in place and adhered to comply with Work Health Safety and Child Protection Policy and procedures
- Ensure all programs are developed and delivered with access, equality and inclusion of all people
KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary level qualifications in visual art/art history and education and/or relevant experience leading learning programs in an arts organisation
- Extensive experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs for teachers and early learning, primary, secondary and tertiary students
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing, designing and developing education resource materials for all levels of learning
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing public and outreach programs, including activities with children, young people, adults, and people with access and diverse needs
- Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships with multiple stakeholders, including teachers, students, community and artists, to create and deliver programs
- Self-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and manage time effectively with high emotional intelligence
- Excellent skills in research and writing, planning, organisational and communication skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail
- First aid certificate, NSW Class C Driver’s Licence or equivalent, National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
