The Community Wellbeing Directorate promotes and enhances community wellbeing and social and cultural development through programs, service provision and social policy. In addition to the Director’s office, Departments include:
- Creative Communities
- Ageing Well
- Children and Families
- Active Communities
- Community Strengthening
The RoleSitting within the Creative Communities Department, the Coordinator Arts & Cultural Engagement will be responsible for leading and coordinating cultural development programs that connect, celebration and build capacity responding to and addressing the needs and aspirations of the community. This includes local creative industry networking and development, art and cultural engagement programs, and community cultural development programs. The work of this role will be required build and maintain collaborative relationships with Departments across Council, the community and key external stakeholders to contribute to vibrant and cohesive community.
About youThe Coordinator Arts & Culture Engagement is a dynamic and creative position that has a broad understanding of various artistic and creative disciplines, but keeps the community and people at the heart of their decision making process. The position balances the strategic direction of the cultural development team, along with practical and operation leadership delivering upon creative outcomes.
You will have strong relationship management skills with stakeholders & artists, people management, financial, and project management skills. You will have a strong commitment to the arts and a deep appreciation for its cultural, educational and social impact.
