About the role

The Arts & Creative Programs Officer to manages diverse projects and programs that support local creative industries and cultural vitality in the City of Greater Geelong, coordinating the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation to benefit artists, designers and arts organisations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver projects aimed at developing and promoting arts and creative activities and programs in diverse and non-traditional locations across the City of Greater Geelong.
  • Develop innovative opportunities for local artists, designers, creative and cultural groups and organisations to showcase their work and develop their profile in the community.
  • Liaise with community groups and agencies, traders, arts and cultural organisations, artists, residents, funding and sponsorship bodies to foster links, cross-pollination, partnerships with and between such groups.
  • Contribute to the development of hubs or spaces that allow for the display and sale of creative goods to the public, studios, production, exhibition and rehearsal spaces.
  • Manage the engagement of external contractors including artists and complete all necessary documentation, project and contract management, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of projects and programs.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in creative/visual arts and relevant experience in developing and managing arts programs and projects, supporting artists, community-based arts and cultural projects and promotion.
