West End to host Stranger Things stage adaptation in late 2023

Get ready to step into the world of Stranger Things like never before! This autumn, the West End will host the highly anticipated stage adaptation of the hit sci-fi series, produced by none other than Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions. Directed by acclaimed theatre veteran Stephen Daldry, and co-directed by Justin Martin, this thrilling new production promises to take audiences on a journey into the past, all the way back to 1959.

Unlike the TV series, which takes place in the 1980s, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is set in 1959 and introduces audiences to familiar characters in a whole new light. The new story is written by Kate Trefry, an executive co-producer and writer on the original show, and promises to be both surprising and scary, while also tugging at the heartstrings. The creative team includes well-known designers and choreographers, making this production a feast for the senses. Details about casting, ticket sales, and specific dates for the show’s run are yet to be announced.
