For 80 years the American Ballet has danced all around the world, however for the first time they will be dancing in your home. To celebrate their 80th anniversary, the world renowned NYC dance company will stream an hour long virtual gala that includes historical footage and special guests including Jennifer Garner, Liev Schreiber, Deborah Roberts, Misty Copeland, Nate Berkus, Katie Couric, Chita Rivera, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Julianna Marguilies and Margaret Qualley.
Among the evening’s offerings are excerpts from ABT’s beloved Swan Lake, dances by Michelle Dorrance and Jessica Lang, and musical performances by Cynthia Erivo and Tony Bennett (who sings “Fly Me to the Moon” as soloists Catherine Hurlin and Aran Bell, who are sheltering together, perform a duet in Central Park).
The event is free, but donations to the ABT Crisis Relief Fund are encouraged.
