Tina – The Tina Turner Musical Extends West End Run to Autumn 2025

The West End production of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, which celebrates the life and legacy of the legendary Tina Turner, has announced an extension of its run at the Aldwych Theatre until autumn 2025. This extension marks yet another milestone for the popular musical, which has captivated audiences since its debut in the West End in 2018.

The current cast is led by Karis Anderson and Zoe Birkett, who share the iconic role of Tina Turner, with Rolan Bell portraying the infamous Ike Turner. The cast also features Mark Anderson as record producer Phil Spector and lyricist Terry Britten, Jonathan Carlton as record company marketing manager Erwin Bach, Grace Wylde as Tina’s sister Alline Bullock, and Irene Myrtle Forrester as Tina’s grandmother, GG. The musical brings together a talented ensemble of performers to depict the highs and lows of Tina Turner’s remarkable life and career.

Other notable cast members include Daniel Haswell as Tina’s father Richard Bullock, Harry Harrington as Tina’s manager Roger Davies, and Emma Hatton as Ike and Tina’s manager Rhonda Graam. Maddison Tyson portrays Tina’s first love Raymond Hill, Carole Stennett plays Tina’s mother Zelma, and Charlotte St. Croix serves as the standby for Tina Turner. The ensemble features a dynamic group of performers, including Sarah Freer, Lloyd Gorman, Angelis Hunt, Joey James, and Ria Turner, along with the Ikettes played by Morgan Broome, Equiana Givans, and Ohaana Greaves.

The musical also showcases a talented children’s cast with Azalea Harris, Ezmai Robinson, and Elsa-Grace Waigo as Young Anna Mae Bullock, and Kennedy-May McLeary, Amira Skerritt, and Alaya Scotland Thomas portraying Young Alline Bullock and Young Craig.

Since its West End premiere, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical has enjoyed global success, with eight productions currently running worldwide. The show has also made history as the longest-running production at the Aldwych Theatre. In addition to its West End triumph, the musical’s Broadway counterpart, which opened in November 2019, received 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The production has been staged in North America, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Australia, further cementing Tina Turner’s enduring legacy.

The musical is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Katori Hall, alongside Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. It features choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume designs by Mark Thompson, and musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck. The creative team also includes lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Jeff Sugg, orchestrations by Ethan Popp, and wigs, hair, and makeup design by Campbell Young Associates. Casting is handled by Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher, with fight direction by Kate Waters.

With its powerful performances and iconic music, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical continues to inspire audiences, honoring the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s indomitable spirit and unforgettable contributions to music and culture. The extension of its West End run ensures that Tina Turner’s story will resonate with fans for years to come.
