Ryan Murphy has revealed that the highly anticipated film adaptation of The Prom will be released on Netflix on December 11th.
The producer tweeted out:
On December 11, let Netflix take you to The Prom you didn’t get this year.
The Prom made its Broadway premiere in 2018, and tells the story of four washed-up Broadway actors trying to help a lesbian student banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom. With music and lyrics by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer, Elf The Musical) and book by Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone, Elf The Musical), The Prom is a heartwarming and inspiring tale of passion, resilience, and standing up for what you believe in despite all odds.
The cast of the film includes Ariana DeBose, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Andrew Rannells, and Keegan-Michael Key.
