The Great Gatsby Musical to Debut in the West End in 2025
The Broadway musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel, The Great Gatsby, is set to make its highly anticipated transfer to London’s West End next year. The production, which has captivated audiences in New York with its lush storytelling and grandiose staging, will open at the London Coliseum on 11 April 2025 and will run until 7 September 2025. Tickets for the show will be available for purchase starting 27 November 2024.
Currently playing on Broadway and featuring acclaimed performers Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada, The Great Gatsby explores themes of ambition, love, and the elusive American Dream. The story centers around Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire who embarks on an impassioned quest to reunite with Daisy Buchanan, the married woman who resides just across the bay.
The musical’s creative team boasts a lineup of distinguished talent. The book is by Kait Kerrigan, known for her work on *The Mad Ones*, and the original score is crafted by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, whose previous credits include ‘Paradise Square’. The production is directed by Marc Bruni, celebrated for his successful direction of *Beautiful: The Carole King Musical*.
Choreography for the show is by Dominique Kelley, while Tony Award-winning designer Linda Cho provides costume design that evokes the elegance of the Jazz Age. Scenic and projection design are handled by Outer Critics Circle Award winner Paul Tate de Poo III, ensuring a visually captivating experience. Lighting design is by Cory Pattak, and sound design by Brian Ronan. Hair and wig design are by Drama Desk Award winner Charles G LaPointe and Rachael Geier. Arrangements are by Jason Howland, with orchestrations by Howland and Kim Scharnberg, and Grammy Award-winning Billy Jay Stein of Strike Audio serving as music producer.
