The award winning Korean phenomenon SWAG AGE IN CONCERT will storm the Gillian Lynne Theatre on Monday 8 September 2025, marking the musical’s first appearance outside Korea. The ninety minute event offers London audiences a rare chance to experience a show that has already collected Best Picture and Best Ensemble prizes on its home turf.
Set in a fictionalised Joseon Dynasty where the traditional Sijo poetry form has been outlawed, the story follows the masked Golbin Gang as they defy authority through rhythm, rhyme and explosive choreography. Composer Lee Jeong Yeon describes the score as a fusion of modern beats with the uniquely Korean spirit of heung, a joyful energy that doubles as a rallying cry for resistance and solidarity.
The London cast features Dan Yang Hee Jun, Jin Kim Soo Ha, Lim Hyun Soo, Lee Kyung Soo, Hwang Sung Jae and Jung Sun Gi alongside eight other performers who helped propel the show’s Korean success. Producer Song Hye Sunand director Lee Kyung soo lead a creative team that blends hip hop movement, colourful period costuming and dynamic lighting to conjure a Joseon of swagger and rebellion.
Tickets went on sale today, and demand is expected to be high given the concert’s one night only status. For UK theatregoers the evening doubles as a cultural bridge, bringing Korea’s contemporary musical voice to the West End while offering a preview of a full length staging now in early planning.
