Sunset Boulevard, starring Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, is gearing up for its big Broadway debut, and fans can look forward to a new cast album dropping soon. The album, recorded live at the Savoy Theatre during the West End run, will be released globally on October 25 via The Other Songs, a label run by Alastair and Billy Webber—sons of the show’s legendary composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber. Vinyl lovers can pre-order their copies on Amazon.

Jamie Lloyd’s highly anticipated revival will start previews at the St James Theatre on September 28, with the official opening night set for October 20. Joining Scherzinger on stage are her London co-stars Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer, and Olivier Award-winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling. All four are making their Broadway debuts, with Scherzinger and Hodgett-Young already having bagged WhatsOnStage Awards for their performances.

This fresh take on the classic musical features direction by Jamie Lloyd and choreography by Fabian Aloise. The creative team includes Soutra Gilmour (sets and costumes), Jack Knowles (lighting), Adam Fisher (sound), and Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom (video design and cinematography). Alan Williams serves as music supervisor and musical director. The musical, with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, is based on the iconic film by Billy Wilder.

Lloyd’s West End production has already racked up seven awards at the 24th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best Direction, Best Performer in a Musical (Scherzinger), and Best Professional Debut Performance (Hodgett-Young). The production also won awards for Best Musical Direction, Best Lighting, Best Sound, and Best Video Design, making it the most-awarded show of the night.

Critics have praised Lloyd’s reimagining, with WhatsOnStage’s lead critic Sarah Crompton calling it “perfectly controlled” and highlighting the “sultry” lighting, immersive sound design, and striking live cinematography that together create a “dazzling tapestry of action.” Alan Williams’ musical direction has been hailed for making the score feel “freshly written.”

The 39-track album will include standout scenes and performances of fan-favorite songs like “Let’s Do Lunch,” “With One Look,” “The Perfect Year,” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.” Don’t miss this chance to relive the magic of Sunset Boulevard!
