Shoshana Bean Joins the Cast of Broadway’s The Lost Boys Musical Adaptation

Broadway favourite Shoshana Bean is set to join the upcoming stage adaptation of The Lost Boys, taking on the central role of Lucy Emerson, the mother whose move to a coastal California town thrusts her family into a world of supernatural danger. The character was first introduced in the 1987 cult film, where she became a grounding force amid the story’s teen-driven chaos and vampire mythology.

Bean’s casting adds significant star power to the production. Fresh from her acclaimed performance in Hell’s Kitchen, which earned her a Tony nomination, she arrives with a long list of notable credits. Her Broadway career spans standout turns in Mr. Saturday Night, Wicked, Waitress, and Hairspray, along with celebrated performances Off-Broadway and in major concert settings, including a sold-out solo debut at Carnegie Hall. She also brings a growing screen portfolio, with roles in Bloodline, Bill & Ted Face the Music, and a PBS concert special.

Her addition to The Lost Boys marks a high profile moment for the musical, which is gearing up for its spring 2026 debut at the Palace Theatre. The production is being shaped by a creative team that blends television, film, and theatre experience, with a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, music and lyrics by The Rescues, choreography by Lauren Yalango Grant and Christopher Cree Grant, and musical supervision and orchestrations led by Ethan Popp.

Bean joins a cast that includes LJ Benet as Michael Emerson, Ali Louis Bourzgui as David, Benjamin Pajak as Sam Emerson, Maria Wirries as Star, and Paul Alexander Nolan as Max, along with Jennifer Duka, Miguel Gil, Brian Flores, Sean Grandillo, and Dean Maupin in key ensemble roles. Additional casting will be announced as the production moves closer to its first performance.

The original film, directed by Joel Schumacher and produced by Richard Donner, became a landmark title in horror and teen cinema, winning genre awards and expanding into sequels and comics. The musical aims to capture the film’s mix of dark humour, coming of age themes, and stylised horror while reimagining its world for a new generation of theatre audiences.

The Lost Boys begins previews on March 27, 2026, ahead of its official opening on April 26 at the newly restored Palace Theatre. With a high profile creative team and Bean now leading its emotional core, the production is poised to be one of Broadway’s major events of the season.
