The highly anticipated UK and Ireland tour of the hit musical & Juliet has unveiled a brand-new trailer as the show gears up for its upcoming stop in Glasgow next week.
Directed by Luke Sheppard, & Juliet reimagines the classic Shakespearean love story, exploring what might have happened if Juliet had chosen a different fate. The musical is set to a pop-infused soundtrack featuring chart-topping hits by Max Martin, including Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” and Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
The touring cast is led by Gerardine Sacdalan as Juliet, with Matt Cardle as Shakespeare, Lara Denning as Anne, Sandra Marvin as Angélique, Dr. Ranj Singh as Lance, Jack Danson as Romeo, Kyle Cox as Francois, and Jordan Broatch as May. The ensemble also includes Michael Nelson, Liam Morris, Jade Johnson, Rosie Singha, Nia Stephen, Psalms-Nissi Myers-Reid, Andilé Mabhena, Harriet Caplan-Dean, Alexander Kranz, Aaron Shales, Toni Paise, and Samuel Wilson-Freeman.
Following its successful West End run at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre from 2019 to 2023 and its ongoing Broadway residency at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, the touring production of & Juliet kicked off at Manchester’s Opera House and continues to captivate audiences across the UK and Ireland.
The musical, with a book by David West Read, features choreography by Jennifer Weber and set design by Soutra Gilmour. The soundtrack, crafted by Max Martin and his collaborators, is accompanied by costume design by Paloma Young and musical supervision, orchestration, and arrangements by Bill Sherman. The production also boasts lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Gareth Owen, video and projection design by Andrzej Goulding, and hair, wig, and makeup design by Suzy Barrett.
Having won numerous WhatsOnStage and Olivier Awards and earning five-star reviews, & Juliet has already achieved global success. The show is set to embark on a US tour beginning in September 2024, alongside various international productions.
The UK and Ireland tour will visit several cities, including Glasgow (13 to 24 August), Oxford (2 to 7 September), Sunderland (9 to 21 September), Hull (23 to 28 September), Plymouth (30 September to 5 October), Wolverhampton (7 to 12 October), Canterbury (14 to 19 October), Liverpool (28 October to 2 November), Southampton (5 to 9 November), Edinburgh (12 to 16 November), and Leeds (18 to 30 November).
