The highly anticipated North American tour of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is set to kick off on September 6 at the Tobin Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. This new touring production, presented by Crossroads Live North America, will span more than 30 weeks throughout the 2024–2025 season, bringing the acclaimed show to cities across the United States, including stops in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Florida, Connecticut, and more.

Dear Evan Hansen, with its powerful score by the Tony- and Oscar-winning team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story) and a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson (tick, tick…BOOM!), originally debuted on Broadway in December 2016. The musical earned widespread acclaim, winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The choreography for the Broadway production was crafted by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and the direction was helmed by multiple Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).

The new tour will be directed by Danny Sharron and Mark Myars, who will also oversee the restaging of choreography. The production team includes scenic design by David Korins, projection design by Peter Nigrini, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg. Music supervision, orchestrations, and additional arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire, with Ben Cohn as the associate music supervisor. Vocal arrangements and additional arrangements are by Justin Paul. Casting for the tour was handled by Murnane Casting.

Dear Evan Hansen has become a cultural phenomenon since its Broadway debut, with a film adaptation released in September 2021, starring original Broadway lead Ben Platt. The Broadway production concluded its run at the Music Box Theatre on September 18, 2022, while its West End counterpart closed at London’s Noël Coward Theatre on October 22, 2022, after nearly three years.

The first national tour of Dear Evan Hansen began in September 2018 in Denver and concluded in July 2023 in Columbia, South Carolina, after 104 engagements. Ben Levi Ross originated the title role in the inaugural tour.
