‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ is gearing up for a grand world tour set to commence in 2025, with its initial performances in the UK. Details on international venues and cast announcements are forthcoming.
Despite the new global journey, the production will continue its popular run at London’s Piccadilly Theatre. This stage adaptation brings to life the celebrated film set in early 1900s Paris, which captured audiences with its story of a courtesan and a writer’s tragic romance. Originally starring Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, the film garnered eight Oscar nominations, winning two.
The London ensemble features Tanisha Spring as Satine and Dom Simpson as Christian, with additional roles filled by Matt Rixon, Ian Carlyle, and Ben Richards, among others. Noteworthy cast members include Ivan De Freitas, Charlotte Gooch, and a supporting company that brings vibrant depth to the performance.
Under the direction of Alex Timbers, the musical boasts a creative team including John Logan (book), Sonya Tayeh (choreography), and Justin Levine (music supervision). The intricate set designs by Derek McLane, lavish costumes by Catherine Zuber, and innovative lighting by Justin Townsend are integral to the show’s allure. The ensemble’s look is completed by the efforts of the hair, wig, and make-up teams led by David Brian Brown and Sarah Cimino. Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher oversee casting for the production.
‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ promises to deliver its blend of drama, romance, and spectacular performances to a global audience, continuing to enchant fans worldwide with its theatrical magic.
