MEAN GIRLS THE MUSICAL officially closes Broadway production

Today it was announced that Mean Girls would not be returning to the August Wilson Theatre once Broadway reopens.

It marks the third musical to announce an official cancellation due to the COVID19 pandemic, joining Frozen and Beetlejuice in pre-emptive closings.

The following statement was posted on the show’s social media accounts:

Based on the film of the same name, Mean Girls opened on Broadway in 2018. The original cast included Erika Henningsen, Taylor Louderman, Barrett Wilbert Weed, Grey Henson, Ashley Park, Kate Rockwell, and Kerry Butler.
