Mean Girls Adds Extra Dates to First UK and Ireland Tour

The hit musical Mean Girls has extended its highly anticipated first UK and Ireland tour, adding new dates across several cities.

The production will launch on 23 February 2026 at the Manchester Opera House and travel nationwide until January 2027. Newly announced stops include Leicester, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Canterbury, and Southampton, joining an already packed schedule of performances.

Adapted from the 2004 Paramount Pictures film, the stage version follows Cady Heron as she enters the ruthless social landscape of North Shore High and challenges the dominance of “the Plastics.”

The creative team brings together comedy and spectacle with a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw. The show features set design by Scott Pask, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Brian Ronan, and hair design by Josh Marquette, with Mary-Mitchell Campbell overseeing music supervision and arrangements. Orchestrations are by John Clancy, with additional arrangements by Glen Kelly.

Since premiering in Washington, D.C., in 2017 and transferring to Broadway in 2018, Mean Girls has become a global success, completing two U.S. national tours and a popular West End run from June 2024 to June 2025 that attracted over 330,000 theatregoers. It won Best New Musical at the 25th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards and inspired a 2024 film adaptation featuring musical numbers.

The UK and Ireland tour is produced by Lorne Michaels, Crossroads Live, and Sonia Friedman Productions, and is set to continue spreading fetch energy well into 2027.
