Les Misérables Arena Tour Unveils Star-Studded Cast for Spectacular Global Journey

The highly anticipated Les Misérables Arena Spectacular has officially announced its complete casting, showcasing some of the most renowned talents in theatre. This mammoth production will feature a UK company of over 110 actors, musicians, and crew, with guest stars joining at various international stops. Tailored for arena audiences of 3,000 to 5,000, the show will debut a brand-new design that promises to elevate the iconic musical to new heights.

Adapted from the beloved novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel. The musical tells the epic tale of redemption and revolution in 19th-century France and has captivated audiences for decades.

The UK leg of the tour will see celebrated performers Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly sharing the role of Jean Valjean, while Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will alternate as the formidable Javert. Donnelly and Jaden are also set to appear in international dates across Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and Norway.

Swedish star Peter Jöback will join the cast for three performances in Sweden, adding to the already stellar lineup. Other key roles include Bonnie Langford as Madame Thénardier, Gavin Lee as Thénardier, Jac Yarrow as Marius, Beatrice Penny-Touré as Cosette, Channah Hewitt as Fantine, James D Gish as Enjolras, and Jeremy Secomb as the Bishop of Digne.

Emily Bautista, known for her role in Miss Saigon, will portray Éponine during the UK performances in Belfast, Glasgow, Sheffield, and Aberdeen. The casting for the Manchester and Newcastle performances will be revealed shortly.

Completing the ensemble are a host of talented performers including Jonathon Bentley, Rebecca Bolton, Olivia Brereton, and many others. The roles of Gavroche and Little Cosette will be alternated by young actors Daniel Adesina, Theo Hills, Felix Holt, Leo Humphreys, Dexter Pulling, Dalia Al Nagar, Amanthi Crowe, Sophia Duffie, Maisie Mac Mahon, and India Mills.

The tour will kick off at the SSE Arena in Belfast on 19 September 2024, with performances running until 28 September. The production will then move on to Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena, Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, and Aberdeen’s P&J Live Arena in October. Following its UK dates, the tour will head to Europe, with performances in Luxembourg, Geneva, Trieste, Milan, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Zurich.

The tour will return to the UK in December, with final performances in Manchester and Newcastle before embarking on a global journey to Sweden, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. The concert will be a centerpiece of the 40th-anniversary celebrations for the musical in 2025, with further dates in North and South America to follow.
