Keala Settle to Lead UK Premiere of New Musical ‘Fly More Than You Fall’

Keala Settle, best known for her role in The Greatest Showman, will star in the UK premiere of the new musical Fly More Than You Fall. The production will run at Southwark Playhouse Elephant from October 18 to November 23, 2024.

Fly More Than You Fall features a book and lyrics by Eric Holmes (Wild About You) and music and lyrics by Nat Zegree (Million Dollar Quartet). The musical centers on Malia, a young girl whose life is dramatically changed when her mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Settle will portray Malia’s mother in the production.

Directed by Christian Durham, the show’s creative team includes associate director Georgie Rankcom, movement director Heather Douglas, and orchestrations and arrangements by Daniel Edmonds. Pearson Casting is handling the casting for the production, with Marc David Levine, known for his work on Hadestown and Company, serving as the lead producer.

Settle, who has also starred in Wicked, & Juliet, and Waitress, expressed her excitement about joining the cast, stating, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this beautifully uplifting story. It’s such a testament to the strength and compassion of the human spirit and the freedom that resides within us all.”
