Jordan Fisher to Illuminate Broadway in ‘Hadestown’ as Orpheus

Acclaimed performer Jordan Fisher is set to make his triumphant return to Broadway, taking center stage as Orpheus in the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Hadestown’. Anticipation runs high as he steps into the spotlight at the prestigious Walter Kerr Theatre on November 20. Fisher gracefully follows in the footsteps of Reeve Carney, the original Orpheus, who will take his final bow on November 19.

Fisher’s meteoric rise in the Broadway realm began with a standout performance as Doody in ‘Grease Live!’. He then left an indelible mark with his debut in ‘Hamilton’ in 2016, stepping into the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. 2020 saw Fisher captivating audiences in the titular role of ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, followed by his mesmerizing performance in ‘Freestyle Love Supreme’. Most recently, in 2023, Fisher garnered widespread acclaim as he originated the role of Anthony in the revival of the iconic ‘Sweeney Todd’.

On his forthcoming role in ‘Hadestown’, Fisher expressed deep honor and gratitude. Embodying Orpheus, he believes, is a realization of a dream. The narrative’s timeless resonance, and Fisher’s elation at being part of its retelling, were keenly evident.

Joining Fisher on this enthralling journey are stellar performers including Solea Pfeiffer as Eurydice, the sensational Betty Who as Persephone, the commanding Phillip Boykin as Hades, the enigmatic Lillias White as Hermes, and the trio of Amelia Cormack, Lindsey Hailes, and Brit West portraying the Fates.

The illustrious Workers chorus is graced by talents such as Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Chibueze Ihumoa, Alex Puette, and Grace Yoo, with the dynamic swings including Sojourner Brown, Brandon Max Cameron, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, Alex Lugo, and Tanner Ray Wilson. Casting is meticulously orchestrated by the adept Whitley Theatrical.

‘Hadestown’, a symphony of storytelling, clinched the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2019. With its soulful book, music, and lyrics by the brilliant Anaïs Mitchell, and under the visionary direction of Rachel Chavkin, the musical continues to enchant audiences worldwide.
