LONDON, UK – The West End revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire has unveiled its complete cast, with award-winning actor Paul Mescal reprising his role as Stanley Kowalski. The acclaimed production, which won the 2023 Olivier Award for Best Revival, will open at the Noël Coward Theatre in February before moving to New York for an additional run.

Joining Mescal is Anjana Vasan, returning as Stella Kowalski, who previously won the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Play for her performance. Patsy Ferran, who plays Blanche DuBois, received the Critics’ Circle Award for Best Actress, adding further acclaim to the production. Dwane Walcott also returns in his role as Mitch, rounding out the core ensemble.

The principal cast will be complemented by Eduardo Ackerman as Pablo Gonzales, Janet Etuk as Eunice Hubbel, and Alexander Eliot, who will serve in a versatile role covering both Stanley and Mitch as an understudy. Supporting roles and understudy duties will be filled by a talented ensemble, including Rob Dempsey, Gabriela Garcia, Francesca Knight, Tom Penn, Curtis Patrick, Constanza Ruff, and Jabez Sykes.

Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, whose work has been praised for its visceral and powerful approach, this production boasts a creative team that includes set designer Madeleine Girling, costume designer Merle Hensel, lighting designer Lee Curran, and sound designer Peter Rice. Angus MacRae serves as the composer, with casting directed by Julia Horan.

After a successful West End season, this revival promises to captivate new audiences with its intensity and emotional depth as it makes its way to New York. The limited engagement in London begins in February, with tickets available soon for what promises to be a defining interpretation of Williams’ iconic play.
