Billy Crudup, renowned for his roles in ‘The Morning Show’ and ‘Almost Famous,’ is set to take the stage in London’s prestigious West End, starring in David Cale’s comedic thriller ‘Harry Clarke.’
Described by the production team as a blend of ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley,’ ‘Saltburn,’ and ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,’ the play revolves around a Midwestern man who ingeniously integrates himself into a wealthy family. The play has previously garnered acclaim in New York and Los Angeles.
Crudup expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming London shows, saying, “I love London and I have loved seeing theater in London for decades. West End theater-goers are some of the most discerning, intelligent, and hungry audiences in the world. I’m grateful to be given the opportunity to share the work Leigh, David, myself, and all our producers have created on the London stage.”
Helmed by director Leigh Silverman, ‘Harry Clarke’ is scheduled to commence its run at the Ambassadors Theatre on 9 March, continuing until 11 May. The production boasts a talented creative team, including scenic design by Alexander Dodge, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Alan C Edwards, sound design by Bart Fasbender, original songs by David Cale, vocal coaching by Deborah Lapidus, and dialect coaching by Deborah Hecht and Jessica Berman. This engagement marks a significant event in London’s theatrical calendar, promising a captivating performance by Crudup.
