Drag: The Musical, co-written by and starring RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Alaska Thunderfuck, is gearing up for its Off-Broadway run at New World Stages, with performances starting September 30 and an official opening night set for October 21.
Joining the fabulous cast are Drag Race alum Luxx Noir London as Popcorn, Bre Jackson as Dixie Coxworth, and Eddie Korbich as Drunk Jerry. Remi Tuckman and Yair Keydar will alternate as Brendan Hutchinson. They’ll star alongside Alaska Thunderfuck as Kitty Galloway (through January 11, 2025), Nick Adams as Alexis Gilmore, Lagoona Bloo as Tuna Turner, Jan Sport as Savannah St. James, Jujubee as The Tigress, Nick Laughlin as Puss Puss Dubois, J. Elaine Marcos as Gloria Schmidt and Rita Laritz, and Joey McIntyre as Tom Hutchinson (through November 24).
The ensemble will feature Cameron Mitchell Bell, Brandon Burks, Nicholas Kraft, Christine Shepard, and Kodiak Thompson. Casting is handled by Ryan Bernard Tymensky of RBT Casting.
Co-written by Alaska, Tomas Costanza, and Ashley Gordon, the musical tells the story of two rival drag bars battling financial woes while trying to survive. It made its world premiere at the Bourbon Room in 2022 and returned for an encore earlier this year.
The production boasts a creative team with scenic design by Jason Sherwood, costumes by Marco Marco, lighting by Adam Honore, sound by Drew Levy, wigs by Domino Couture, makeup by Aurora Sexton, and projections by Aaron Rhyne. The music will be led by Andrew Orbison on keyboard, joined by Ariel Bellvalaire on guitar, Tyler Connaghan on guitar, and Jasmine Guevara on drums.
