Cynthia Erivo is preparing for a major return to the West End stage next year with a daring new take on Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The Tony and Emmy Award-winning star, best known to theatre fans for The Colour Purple and soon to audiences worldwide as Elphaba in Wicked, will perform all 23 roles in the production, including the infamous vampire himself.
The production is directed by Kip Williams, the creative force behind Sarah Snook’s acclaimed one-woman performance of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Like that production, Dracula will use cutting-edge staging and multimedia to explore themes of identity, duality, and psychological unease. The official synopsis describes it as a “transformative solo performance” that blurs the lines between self and other, suggesting the true monster may reside within.
For Erivo, the project marks her first stage role in a decade. It is both a homecoming and a formidable artistic challenge, demanding that she embody every voice and perspective in Stoker’s gothic tale.
Dracula will run at London’s Noël Coward Theatre for a strictly limited engagement from 4 February to 30 May 2026. The historic venue is located in the heart of the West End, within walking distance of Leicester Square and Charing Cross stations.
Pre-sale access began on 22 September and continues until 24 September at noon for those who registered in advance. General ticket sales will open in October, with demand expected to be high for one of the most ambitious and anticipated productions of the upcoming season.
Erivo’s return to the stage comes after a decade focused on film, television, and recording projects. Taking on Dracula not only allows her to reconnect with her theatre roots but also places her at the centre of a production designed to test the limits of solo performance. With Williams’ innovative vision and Erivo’s powerhouse talent, this reimagined Draculapromises to be one of 2026’s must-see theatrical events.
