Come From Away reveals schedule for upcoming UK and Ireland tour

Celebrated musical Come From Away, the recipient of multiple awards, has now disclosed a variety of tour dates across the UK and Ireland, slated to kick off in early 2024.

Come From Away is a unique and heartwarming musical that tells the true story of what transpired when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly in the small town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon after the September 11 attacks in 2001.

As 7,000 people descended into this close-knit community, the residents of Gander opened their hearts and homes, hosting this international community of strangers – spurring unexpected camaraderie in extraordinary circumstances. The musical illustrates the capacity for human kindness even in times of great adversity and shows how even in the darkest of times, a small group of people can come together to create something beautiful.

Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the musical takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story. The narrative is based on hundreds of interviews with residents, as well as passengers who were stranded in the town, and it’s infused with humour, compassion and an upbeat score that speaks to the triumphant spirit of the human experience.

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all. Come From Away is a celebration of hope, humanity and unity.

It has enjoyed successful runs in the West End, Broadway, Canada, across Australia, and on an extensive 60-city tour of North America.
