Casting Announced for Schmigadoon! Stage Musical World Premiere

Fans of the beloved Apple TV+ series Schmigadoon! have reason to celebrate as the show leaps from screen to stage with its world premiere in January 2025. The stage adaptation, part of the Kennedy Center’s Broadway Center Stage series, will run from 31 January to 9 February.

The stage musical will feature a book and score by Cinco Paul, co-creator of the Emmy-winning series, with direction and choreography by Christopher Gattelli. Fans can look forward to beloved songs from the show, including the hit ‘Corn Puddin’, alongside brand-new material crafted for the stage.

Leading the production are:

  • Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) as Josh
  • Sara Chase (The Great Gatsby) as Melissa

The story follows Josh and Melissa, a couple who find themselves trapped in a magical town where life unfolds like a Golden Age Broadway musical. Joining them are:

  • Kevin Del Aguila as Reverend Layton
  • Ann Harada (Schmigadoon!) reprising her role as Florence Menlove
  • McKenzie Kurtz as Betsy
  • Isabelle McCalla as Emma
  • Javier Muńoz as Doc Lopez
  • Brad Oscar as Mayor Menlove
  • Emily Skinner as Mildred
  • Ryan Vasquez as Danny

Schmigadoon! first charmed audiences as an Apple TV+ series, featuring stars like Keegan-Michael Key, Cecily Strong, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Dove Cameron, Aaron Tveit, and others during its two-season run. Now, this stage adaptation brings the magic to live audiences, promising an enchanting blend of humour, heart, and toe-tapping tunes.

The production will run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., giving fans a chance to experience the whimsical world of Schmigadoon live on stage for the first time. Tickets are expected to sell quickly for this limited engagement, so early booking is highly recommended.

With its nostalgic nods to classic musicals and an all-star cast, Schmigadoon! on stage is poised to be an unforgettable theatrical event.
