Broadway’s The Notebook Musical Premiere Announces Principal Cast
Ingrid Michaelson and Bekah Brunstetter Bring New Musical to Life with Talented Ensemble
Broadway is buzzing with excitement as the principal casting for The Notebook, the anticipated new musical, has been announced. Adapted from Nicholas Sparks beloved novel, this musical is set to make waves on Broadway with a talented cast.
Tony Award winner Maryann Plunkett will take on the role of Older Allie, joined by Joy Woods as Middle Allie and Jordan Tyson as Younger Allie. Dorian Harewood steps into the shoes of Older Noah, with Ryan Vasquez as Middle Noah, and John Cardoza playing Younger Noah. Except for Harewood, who joins the cast in place of the late John Beasley, all cast members are reprising their roles from the musicals debut run at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in 2022.
With a score by Ingrid Michaelson and a book by Bekah Brunstetter, The Notebook promises to be a heartfelt and engaging experience. The production is co-directed by Michael Greif and Schele Williams, with choreography by Katie Spelman.
The design team includes David Zinn and Brett J Banakis for scenic design, Paloma Young for costume design, Ben Stanton for lighting design, Nevin Steinberg for sound design, and Mia Neal for hair and wig design. The music team features Carmel Dean as music supervisor, and Geoffrey Ko as music director.
The Notebook is set to begin previews on February 6th at the Schoenfeld Theatre, with an official opening night planned for March 14th. While full casting for the Broadway run is still to be announced, the show has already been praised as an earnest, deeply romantic tear-jerker.
Get ready for a memorable night at the theatre, as The Notebook promises to bring romance, passion, and incredible performances to Broadway.
