Following closely is Six, a vibrant retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives. With over 500 million streams for its compact nine-song tracklist, Six demonstrates how a fresh, feminist perspective can resonate powerfully with audiences.

Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, continues to cast its spell, securing the third spot with over 739 million streams. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its enchanting music and captivating storyline.

Surprisingly, The Book of Mormon and Hadestown also make strong showings. The Book of Mormon, with its satirical edge and catchy numbers, garnered over 265 million streams, while Hadestown, a hauntingly beautiful retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, earned 352 million streams.

The remaining spots are occupied by a diverse range of shows, each bringing something unique to the table:

  • The Lion King remains a beloved classic, with its timeless music drawing in 173 million streams.
  • Moulin Rouge! The Musical dazzles with its extravagant reinterpretation of the iconic film, earning 105 million streams.
  • Aladdin, with its magical Arabian nights, clocks in 81 million streams.
  • & Juliet, offering a modern twist on Shakespeare’s tragedy, gathers 23 million streams.
  • Back to the Future, the newest entry, accumulates 11 million streams, showing promise for its future in the musical landscape.

While live performances remain the heart of Broadway, the digital realm offers a new platform for fans to engage with their favorite shows.
