Beverley Knight and Alexandra Burke to Star in Sister Act Revival in West End

Prepare to be dazzled as Sister Act the Musical makes a spectacular return to London’s West End at the Dominion Theatre in the upcoming spring season. This show boasts an exceptional cast of performers, headlined by the sensational multi-award-winning music icon and Olivier Award-winning artist Beverley Knight, as well as the chart-topping artist and renowned musical theatre star Alexandra Burke. Both powerhouse talents will captivate audiences in the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier, promising an unforgettable theatrical experience that’s not to be missed.

Sister Act to run in the West End with Beverley Knight and Alexandra Burke

Beverley Knight, celebrated for her portrayal of Emmeline Pankhurst in Sylvia at the Old Vic, will dazzle audiences as Deloris from 15 March to 8 June 2024. Alexandra Burke, who previously played the same role in the 2016 tour, will take center stage from 10 June to 31 August 2024, captivating theatergoers in the process.

Sister Act the Musical is an exuberant tribute to the unbreakable bonds of friendship, sisterhood, and the transformative power of music, inspired by the beloved film of the same name. The plot follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, whose life takes a dramatic twist when she witnesses a murder. Forced into protective custody and disguised as a nun, Deloris finds refuge in a convent, where she empowers her fellow sisters to find their voices while rediscovering her own.

Featuring the enchanting original music of Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane, Sister Act the Musical is a heartwarming story that will leave you mesmerized.

This enthralling production is expertly directed by Bill Buckhurst, with show-stopping choreography by Alistair David, stunning set and costume design by Morgan Large, expert musical direction by Neil MacDonald, striking lighting design by Tim Mitchell, immersive sound design by Tom Marshall, and superb musical supervision by Stephen Brooker. Led by Stuart Burt, the casting process is underway, with further company members set to be announced in the near future.
